FAQ: MILITARY PROXY MARRIAGE

The court in Montana will need proof that you are indeed an active duty military member. You will also need your ID (drivers license) for the notary to confirm your identity and to witness you signing the marriage application.

Only US citizens can use our notary system. The person you're marrying will need to visit a notary in their home country, or where they are currently living, anyplace that offers notary services.

FAQ: MONTANA RESIDENT PROXY MARRIAGE

No. As a Montana resident (with identification), you can be located anywhere in the world. Our double proxy marriage system handles all of your paperwork at the county court.

There are no residency requirements for getting married in Montana. But, if you wish to use a double proxy marriage service like Wedding Proxy, one of you will need to be a Montana resident or an active member of the military
